A licensed Ontario lender built around transparency

Credit Day provides short-term credit to Ontario residents who need a small amount of money quickly — and who deserve to know exactly what it costs before they sign anything.

Who we are

Credit Day is an online payday lender serving Ontario. We were built for a simple reason: when money is short and a bill arrives, the last thing anyone needs is a confusing application, a hidden fee, or a week of waiting. Our entire process happens online, and our pricing is the same as the legal maximum every other licensed lender must follow — no more, no less.

How we are regulated

Payday lending in Ontario is governed by the Payday Loans Act, 2008 and licensed by the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement. Licensed lenders must display their licence, disclose the full cost of borrowing before a loan is signed, and follow strict rules on repayment and collections. We operate within those rules, and we publish our licence information on this site.

What we do

  • Lend between $100 and $1,500 for terms of 14 to 62 days, aligned with your pay cycle.
  • Give most applicants a decision within 60 minutes of applying.
  • Deposit approved funds directly to your bank account, often within the hour during business hours.
  • Charge the Ontario maximum of $14 per $100 borrowed — with no application fees and no early repayment penalties.

What we don't do

  • We do not charge any fee beyond the cost of borrowing permitted by law.
  • We do not roll over or extend a loan in a way that adds cost — that practice is prohibited in Ontario.
  • We do not lend to anyone outside Ontario, or to anyone under 18.
  • We do not hide the total cost of repayment. It is disclosed before you sign.

Payday loans are high-cost credit

We want to be direct about this. A payday loan is an expensive way to borrow money, and it is designed to be repaid quickly — usually on your next payday. It is not a long-term financial solution, and it should not be used to cover recurring shortfalls. If you are borrowing to make ends meet every month, a payday loan will make that harder, not easier. Our guide to alternatives sets out lower-cost options, and non-profit credit counselling is free in Ontario.

Our approach to your data

Your application is transmitted over 256-bit encryption and handled in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). We collect only what we need to assess your application and service your loan. For details, see our privacy policy.

Payday loans are high-cost loans. They are an expensive form of credit and should only be used for short-term, unexpected needs. Late or missed payments will increase the cost of borrowing and may affect your credit.
